The voice of the Imazighen bard blends in with the majestic landscape – the shade of the cedars, the beautiful meadows, the high peaks, the crystal-clear snow, the limpid lakes and the cool oases that appear in the midst of desolated, desertic land. The melancholic voice of the amedyaz (the Amazigh bard), the powerful tamawayt songs, the communion experienced in the ahidus dances, all express the same cry. A cry ripped from the past, form the innermost depths of Northern Africa, everlastingly standing up to all denials of its identity, thanks to the faith of its women and the tenacity of its men. This is what the present compilation relates, topped of by the splendid voice of the master Mohamed Rouicha.
