Hassane Idbassaïd voit le jour en 1967 à Tiznit dans le sud du Maroc. Auteur et interprète, il montre très tôt des dispositions pour le métier. En effet, à l'âge de onze ans déjà, il crée son premier groupe. Il enregistre avec le groupe Aytmaten (les frères) avant d'arriver en France en 1985.
C'est avec les reprises des chansons des grands précurseurs de la musique berbère tels que Hadj Belaid, Ahmed Amentag ou encore Saïd Achtouk, que l'artiste se fait connaître.
Sa rencontre avec Ammouri M'Barek, une figure mythique de la chanson berbère marocaine, marque un tournant décisif de sa carrière. Ils tournent ensemble dans plusieurs pays d'Europe, et Hassane Idbassaid collabore à l'enregistrement d'un des albums de Ammouri M'Barek en 1992.
Puis, il affine sa vision de la musique berbère moderne : batterie, basse, guitare, en plus des instruments traditionnels, ribab (vielle monocorde) et lotar (banjo berbère). Hassane Idbassaïd maîtrise tout aussi bien la musique berbère moderne que le style plus traditionnel tel que celui des Rways.
En 2006, Idbassaïd sort Chahwa, treizième album de sa carrière marocaine, mais premier distribué en France. Idbassaïd jette dans Chahwa des passerelles entre nord et sud du Sahara et met en lumière la richesse de la chanson berbère marocaine.

Hassane Idbassaid was born in Tiznit, in the south of Morocco in 1967. His childhood is influenced by Berber music and the sound of the traditional instruments. It's the history of a young man who made his own instrument when he was nine years old, and created his first band at eleven.
At 18 years old, he is inspired by a lot of melodies, modern and old ones. Ibdassaid loves to mix up old instruments with the new ones. He plays with the greatest names of Berber music and he starts composing his own melodies taking inspiration from Hadj Belaïd, Ahmed Amentag and Saïd Achtouk, whom he pays tributes to in three albums. In 1985, he takes a flight to Paris to join his father. He discovers the lights of this big city, full of clubs, bars, musicians…and adopts this town in his heart. He meets Ammouri M'Barek, a mythic character of the Berber Music, who gives him inspiration. Together they will be touring in several European countries.
Idbassaid has released fifteen albums so far. His new album “Chahwa” is influenced by Berber music but also modern sound, all titles are original and sung in Amazigh (Berber) except one song in French, “Paris”.
