Numidia
gathers for the first time, far from any clichés, various Berber
musicians the Tuareg group Imaran , the Kabyle groups Thissas,
Alitura and Ayen (Kabyle rap) and the Moroccan Berber Mejja
but also The Quartet Jazz of Steve Potts and the French
Hip Hop R&B group Gangsta Swing.

Means companions in Tuareg. Imaran is composed of the charismatic
leader Ahmed Chakali, author, composer and performer, of the Dassine
and Tin Hinan chorus-singers and of the percussionnists Salah and
Hammou. The group is native of Djanet (Tassili of Ajjers, Southern
Algeria).

After having improvised on the music of the Gnawas with Steve Lacy,
the well-known American saxophonist Steve Potts and his Quartet
Jazz made up of Michael Felberbaum (guitar), Stéphane Persiani
(bass and double bass), Richard Portier (battery) decided to renew
this experience with the Tuareg music of Imaran and the rap R&B
group Gangsta Swing.
